
Mascarpone, prosciutto and figs flatbread
A delightful flat bread that is sweet and savory. It's very easy to make and it will amaze your guests.
Equipment
- rolling mat
- Rolling Pin
- cutting board
- baking sheet
- parchment paper
Ingredients
- 1 lb bread dough please refer to the stuffed focaccia recipe for the dough and adjust the servings, or use store bought dough
- 4 oz mascarpone cheese
- 3 oz prosciutto
- 8 figs I used fresh Mission figs
- flour for dusting
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients.

- Preheat the oven at 475 degrees; dust a baking mat with flour and then roll your dough very thin.1 lb bread dough, flour

- Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper, than lay the flatbread on it; top with dollups of mascarpone cheese and shreds of prosciutto.4 oz mascarpone cheese, 3 oz prosciutto

- On a cutting board, cut the figs in quarters; evenly scatter the figs on the flatbread.8 figs

- Place in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, cool slightly before cutting.

Notes
Flatbread is a type of bread that is widely made in different parts of the world. The idea is to create a vessel to display and cook delicious ingredients without adding a lot of carbs and therefore making the dish very flavorful and light in texture. This particular bread is topped with both savory and sweet elements, one of which, the figs, being very seasonal and therefore making the recipe very fresh.
