Easy and quick grilled calamari

Grilled calamari steaks with pickled radishes

Calamari steak

  • 4 calamari steaks I used calamari from Alaska and they came already scored
  • 4 tbsp ghee butter
  • salt to taste
  • pink peppercorn, crushed, to taste
  • red pepper flakes to taste

Pickled radishes

  • 1 bundle of radishes I used Easter basket radishes from my garden
  • 1 sprig of fresh thyme, leaves removed
  • apple cider vinegar to taste
  • balsamic glaze, a few drops
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • salt & pepper to taste


  • Gather your ingredients.
  • Preheat the grill at 450 degrees, score the calamari steaks and pat dry.
    4 calamari steaks
  • Wash the radishes and thinly slice.
    1 bundle of radishes
  • In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, thyme leaves, vinegar and olive oil, whisk to emulsify.

  • Combine the marinade with the radishes.
  • Brush the calamari steaks with half of the ghee butter and sprinkle some salt. Grill for about 4 minutes per side. Melt the remaining ghee butter and combine with the pink peppercorn and red pepper flakes. Brush on the calamari steaks and enjoy!
